Do you charge for the estimates?

Absolutely not.  The estimate is free and lasts between 10 – 30 minutes.  We come to your home or office to discuss your needs, schedule, and budget, and to answer any questions you might have. 

I’m ashamed of my space. Am I the only one out there with this mess?

If that were true, there wouldn’t be so many successful cleaners out there. Including us. Cleaning is a learned behavior, not an innate trait, so it is something you need to be taught such as a language or an instrument. People are not born with this, so there is no shame in asking for help. Let go of the humility and add simplicity and harmony to your life.

How does this process work, exactly?

First and foremost, DO NOT CLEAN UP before we come for the estimate. Seeing your place in its natural state speaks volumes to us on how to best orchestrate your project. However, DO sit and collect your thoughts on what you want the end result to be. 

When is the best time to contact you?

 As far in advance of when you need services as possible. 

Can I just get a ballpark figure of how much it will cost to clean my home?

We may be able to give you a very wide range that takes into account all the possibilities of cleaning your home. However, we can't tell you where the price for cleaning will fall in that range sight unseen. Because every home is unique, we base our pricing on factors like clutter, pets and even your lifestyle, which affect the way we clean, so impact the price. That's why we like to meet you at your home before giving you a price. 

What are your rates?

Our pricing is completely individualized. Our years of experience have helped us learn that every home is as unique as the people living there. We base our pricing on many factors, including the presence of pet hair, clutter and even your lifestyle. That is why we like to meet with you before quoting you a price. 


Do you have packages?

We completely individualize our cleaning. We use a proven system to clean thoroughly, consistently and efficiently. We also tailor our visit to your individual needs and your home's cleaning requirements. Please contact us for more information. 

Do you bring your own cleaning supplies and equipment?

Yes, we bring everything we need to clean your home. You don't have to provide a thing. 

Do you clean homes just once, or do you have to clean long-term?

While most of our customers prefer a weekly cleaning on a regularly scheduled day, we also clean homes every other week or less frequently. Even on special occasions. Check out our Services page to see the types of services we provide. 

How many people will be in my home during each cleaning?

Typically, there will be two people in your home - a team captain and a team member. On rare occasions, there may be three people or one person. For example, if you need emergency help fast, the office staff may send three people to do the job. If your home is very small, one person may be able to complete the job quickly and thoroughly. We will work with you so you know how many people will be in your home. We respect that your home is private, and the trust you place in us by inviting us into your home.

If I sign up for long-term service, will the same person be in my home each time?

We make every effort to ensure that at least one of the two team members who serves your home cleans during each visit.

What time will you be at my home?

If you would like us to be at your home at a specific time, we recommend that you sign up for service either at the beginning of the day or the end of the day. As we clean homes during the day, we often encounter things that delay our arrival at our next home, like traffic, or a customer who would like some additional help. For midday service, we give you a window of time for our arrival. 


If there is a problem, who can I call?

If you see a problem while the team is in your home, you can talk to the team captain, who will make immediate efforts to correct the problem. Or you can contact the office staff, who will work with the team to quickly correct the problem and enforce our guarantee. 

I would like to give a gift card for a whole house cleaning. Can you tell me how much to spend?

It is very difficult to give you a price via email sight unseen. We base our pricing on many factors, including the number of rooms, size of rooms, pets, clutter, surfaces of countertops and floors and even the lifestyle of the homeowner (i.e., someone who is home a lot has very different cleaning needs than someone who travels a lot). That is why we are very flexible with gift cards. We will clean the home within the amount of the gift card, or the gift recipient can apply the amount to additional services. Do I have to be home during house cleanings?

Because we clean Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. most of our customers aren't home but the vast majority trust Mop Riders with the key to their home. For additional security, all house keys are individually coded and cross-referenced.

Why do I have to have an initial clean at a higher cost?

Over the years, we have found that having that first clean brings your home up to a certain standard. It’s a standard that we promise to maintain. We normally need extra time to properly start the process of eliminating soap scum and mildew buildup along with dust accumulation, baseboards and detailed vacuuming and dusting. What should I do before a home cleaning service?

To make our house cleaning services more efficient, we ask that you pick up clothing, toys and other household items prior to a visit from our housekeeping teams. 

What if my maid service missed a spot?

Our company offers consistent, quality home cleaning. Like in any relationship, however, miscommunications may occur and we may make a mistake. That's why we offer a house cleaning service guarantee, which means if you notify us within 24 hours, our house cleaning staff will correct their mistake at no charge.
